SLN to ensure uninterrupted hospital operations
February 26, 2021Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) has deployed naval troops including medical staffers to several hospitals to avoid inconveniences faced by the general public in view of the recent strike announced by a section of healthcare minor staffers.
As a result, armed forces were called to serve the public while continuing operations of the respective state-run hospitals.
Accordingly, the SLN has deployed 89 naval personnel including medical staffers to the National Hospital for Respiratory Diseases in Welisara, District Hospital in Maho, District General Hospital Negombo, Teaching Hospital in Mahamodara, and several other state-run hospitals in Udugama, Elpitiya, Balapitiya, Debarawewa and Tangalle following the directives of Navy Commander Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne.
