Total virus recovery in Sri Lanka rose to 78,372 persons
February 28, 2021The total Coronavirus positives identified during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today (February 28) stands at 460 and the total cases in the country increased to 82,889, the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.
Thirty five persons among the total positives identified yesterday were Sri Lankans repatriated from overseas while 62 have been identified from Ratnapura District, 59 from Jaffna District, 51 from Gampaha Districts and 253 persons from other districts, the NOCPCO confirmed today (February 28).
The number of infected persons associated with the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster increased to 79,224 and out of them, a total of 76,979 have left hospitals following complete recovery.
The NOCPCO also stated that a total of 12,632 PCR tests were conducted yesterday (27).
The country’s COVID-19 death toll remains at 464.
A total of 748 persons have left hospitals yesterday after complete recovery from the virus.
The total recovery from the virus in the country rose to 78,372 persons. 4,053 Coronavirus patients are undergoing medical treatments while 9,667 persons are quarantining under 96 centres managed by Tri-Forces, the NOCPCO added.
