290 persons left hospitals after virus recovery

The total Coronavirus positives identified during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today (March 08) stands at 359 and the total cases in the country increased to 85,694, the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.

Twenty two persons among the total positives identified yesterday were Sri Lankans while 77 of them have been identified from Gampaha District, 74 from Colombo District, 34 from Galle District and 152 persons from other districts, the NOCPCO said.

The numbers of infected persons associated with the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster increased to 81,935 and out of them, a total of 80,629 have left hospitals following complete recovery.

The NOCPCO also stated that a total of 9,575 PCR tests were conducted yesterday (07).

A total of 290 persons have left hospitals yesterday after complete recovery from the virus.

The total recovery from the virus in the country rose to 82,058 persons. 3,134 Coronavirus patients are undergoing medical treatments while 9,899 persons are quarantining under 100 centres managed by Tri-Forces, the NOCPCO added.

The country’s COVID-19 death toll has increased to 502 along with 05 Coronavirus deaths reported during the last 24 hours.
