A total of 7,194 PCR tests conducted yesterday
March 09, 2021The total Coronavirus positives identified during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today (March 09) stands at 344 and the total cases in the country increased to 86,038, the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.
Ten persons among the total positives identified yesterday were Sri Lankans repatriated from overseas while 65 of them have been identified from Gampaha District, 54 from Colombo District, 47 from Galle District and 168 persons from other districts, the NOCPCO said.
The number of infected persons associated with the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster increased to 82,269 and out of them, a total of 81,083 have left hospitals following complete recovery.
The NOCPCO also stated that a total of 7,194 PCR tests were conducted yesterday (08).
A total of 454 persons have left hospitals yesterday after complete recovery from the virus.
The total recovery from the virus in the country rose to 82,512 persons. 3,019 Coronavirus patients are undergoing medical treatments while 10,192 persons are quarantining under 104 centres managed by Tri-Forces, the NOCPCO added.
The country’s COVID-19 death toll has increased to 507 along with 5 Coronavirus deaths reported during the last 24 hours.
