Jaffna troops extend helping hand to mark the International Women’s Day
March 09, 2021The Sri Lanka Army (SLA) distributed 1,000 nutrient dry ration packets to the pregnant and widowed women at Chunnakam South playground, Jaffna recently.
According to the Army sources, the donation of the relief package and the infants' needs was arranged in the sidelines of the International Women’s Day.
Sponsored by renowned private organizations, the project was a part of the civil-military cooperation oriented activities led by the Security Forces Headquarters -Jaffna under the purview of Maj. Gen. Priyantha Perera.
A large number of residents were benefited with the programme.
Religious leaders, Senior Army Officers, representatives of sponsoring organizations were also present at the occasion.
