SLN continues mangrove plantation
March 15, 2021Enhancing the awareness on marine plant ecosystem, the Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) planted 700 mangrove saplings in the Ponnalai Lagoon, yesterday (Mar 14).
Mangroves play a pivotal role in the coastal ecosystems fetching benefits to the regional community and the country as a whole.
Northern Naval Commander Rear Admiral Senarath Wijesooriya, commenced the programme under the directives of the Navy Commander Nishantha Ulugetenne.
