SL troops in Mali recover IEDs and completes 21 escorts of CCEO
March 18, 2021The Sri Lankan Combat Convoy Company (LKACCC), under the United Nations (UN) Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA), has so far conducted 21 Combat Convoy Escort Operations (CCEO) by 15 Mar and recovered 15 Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) in the past few months.
MINUSMA Commanding Force Commander in Mali was highly satisfied with the operations ever since it caused no harm to own troops, MINUSMA equipment, or any civilians in the areas, the SLA said.
Further, the recovered IEDs were belived to be buried by tribal fighters in Mopti, Kidal, and Tombouctou areas targeting VIPs and administrators of the provinces, the SLA also said.
MINUSMA Force Commander and other high-profile military and civil administrators in Mali visited the LKACCC camp and highly praised the Sri Lankan troops and their spirit-de-corps.
