Sri Lanka and Pakistan Armies join Ex 'Shake Hands 1' at Saliyapura
March 19, 2021Symbolizing long-standing bilateral and friendly relations, the Sri Lanka Army and Pakistan Army troops began a bilateral Exercise - 'Shake Hands - 1' recently at Saliyapura Gajaba Regimental Headquarters premises.
The Field Training Exercise (FTX) ‘Shake Hands’ provides fairly realistic scenarios and situations with special focus on tactical level military operations, internal security (IS) and counter revolutionary warfare (CRW) tactics, joint military offensives against terrorism/extremism, survival and tracking, mock attacks, identification of suicide bombers and explosives and intelligence collection.
Six officers and 35 Other Ranks of the Pakistan Army and 4 Officers and 40 Other Ranks of the Sri Lanka Army joined the FTX which will continue till 31 March 2021 while adhering to healthcare guidelines.
