SLGGA flag pinned on Defence Secretary
March 22, 2021The Western Province Commissioner of the Sri Lanka Girls Guide Association (SLGGA) Mirani Dissanayake pinned the SLGGA’s 104th year celebration flag on the Defence Secretary Gen. Kamal Gunaratne (Retd) at the Ministry, today (Mar 22).
The flag was pinned on the Defence Secretary following a cordial discussion held with the SLGGA delegation arrived at the Ministry today.
According to Association’s Executive Committee Member Nadeeka Gunasekara, the flag pinning was underway to celebrate the 104th Birthday of the Association in the year 2021.
During the past 103 years, this association has empowered young girls and women in the island and has assisted a number of persons through various projects.
SLGGA District Commissioner (Colombo District) Jaaiza Sheriff, SLGGA Zonal Commissioner (Sri Jayawardenepura) Dharshani Surasena and students were also present at the occasion.
