The Russian Ambassador meets Defence Secretary
March 26, 2021The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Sri Lanka, His Excellency Yury Materiy met the Defence Secretary Gen. Kamal Gunaratne (Retd) at the Ministry today (Mar 26).
The Defence Secretary and the Ambassador Materiy had a cordial discussion on matters of bilateral importance and mutual relevance during the occasion.
Gen. Gunaratne also thanked the Russian envoy for their continuous support for Sri Lanka which further strengthens the bilateral ties between two countries.
Defence Attaché to the Russian Embassy in Sri Lanka, Colonel Denis I. Shkoda and Additional Secretary (Defence) PBSC Nonis were also present at the meeting.
