March 29, 2021The Sri Lanka Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (SVU) launched a command-wise tree planting campaign on 21 Mar on the sidelines of the International Day of Forests.
The Navy Commander Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne presided over the inauguration of 1st reef cleaning project in 2021 organized by ‘Oceanlust’ e-magazine at Malima Club House, Uswetakeiyawa on Mar 27.
The main aim of the programme was to clean the natural coral reef extending northwards from the Kelani estuary and the neighboring shoreline.
