Exercise 'Mithra Shakthi' concludes

'Mitra Shakthi', the Joint Training Exercise between the Sri Lankan and Indian Armies concluded in Diyatalawa on Monday (08 April). According to Army media, the closing ceremony of the Exercise was held at the 1 Gemunu Watch in the hill country garrison town.

The Indian contingent was made up of 11 officers and 109 other ranks while the local contingent had ten officers and 110 other rank personnel.

The two-week long 'Mitra Shakthi' conducted for the 7th consecutive time this year commenced at the 1 Gemunu Watch (GW) camp in Diyatalawa, last month (26 March). The Exercise provides a platform for the participants to share their operational experience and expertise while also broadening inter-operable skills and promote co-operation between the two armies.

Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake also made a visit to Diyatalawa to witness the proceedings of the Exercise on 30th March.

The certificate awarding ceremony was graced by the Director Infantry of the Sri Lanka Army Brigadier S.A.D.A.D Gunawardene.
