Army vested new home for a Jaffna family
April 13, 2021The Sri Lanka Army-built new house in Grand Bazaar, Jaffna was vested in a deserving family during a brief ceremony of Hindu rites and rituals yesterday (April 12).
Chief of Defence Staff and Army Commander Gen. Shavendra Silva who was on a visit to the Jaffna peninsula to share New Year greetings with tri service personnel on duty, graced the house warming ceremony and handed over the keys of the new house to Mrs. Karunanidhi Jagadishwaran.
Army troops provided technical, engineering and manpower requirements while finance for the construction was allocated by the Jaffna Divisional Secretariat.
Security Forces –Jaffna Commander Maj. Gen. Priyantha Perera, military Officers, troops and state officials in Jaffna participated in the ceremony conducted in strict adherence to current health guidelines.
