Indian Navy ship arrives at Colombo
April 15, 2021The Indian Naval Ship (INS) ‘Ranvijay’ arrived at the Colombo Port on a three-day visit yesterday (Apr 14).
The ship was warmly welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) in accordance with naval traditions on arrival.
INS ‘Ranvijay’ is a destroyer serving in the Indian Navy and this 146.2m - long platform is manned by 425 crew, the SLN said.
The Commanding Officer, Captain Hariharan called on Commander Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Meril Sudarshana at the Western Naval Command Headquarters, port of Colombo today (15).
They held cordial discussions on matters of mutual interest and a stock of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), were handed over to Rear Admiral Sudarshana, the SLN also said.
Further, both the parties exchanged mementos to mark the occasion.
Meanwhile, the Commanding Officer also called at the Indian Peace Keeping Force (IPKF) Monument in Battaramulla and paid floral tribute.
The ship is scheduled to depart the island tomorrow (Apr 16).
