Roshan Abyesundara elevated to the next rank
April 16, 2021The Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF), Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana promoted Leading Aircraftsman Roshan Abeysundara to the rank of Corporal yesterday (Apr 15).
Abyesundara has promoted in recognition of his performance of swimming from Thalaimannar to Dhanushkodi in India and back on 11 Apr, the SLAF said.
This achievement is thereby broke the Asian Long Distance Swimming Record, the SLAF also said.
Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana congratulated him on the dedication that leads him to success from humble beginnings.
Further, a reward was also presented to him during the ceremony.
The event was attended by Director Ground Operations, Director Sports and the Secretary of the Air Force Sports Council.
