Troops recovered remains of two reported missing in Welu Oya
April 16, 2021The Sri Lanka Army (SLA) recovered the remains of father and his son today morning (Apr 16) reportedly went missing last evening while they were bathing at the Welu Oya in Haldummulla.
Following an extensive search operation led by the Security Forces Headquarters-Central recovered the remains of them.
Reportedly they have faced the misfortune during their journey towards Badulla while holidaymaking for the New Year.
Their father has decided to take a swim in the waterway with his son and daughter while the mother wasn’t in the vicinity.
Afterwards, strong water waves flowing downhill due to showers experienced in upcountry has carried the two males while their daughter managed to survive narrowly.
Bodies were recovered from a low-lying area following an 18 hour long search operation carried out under the directives of the Army Commander.
