SLN designs air propelled craft for shallow waters
April 27, 2021Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) has designed an air propelled flat-bottomed small craft which is capable of routing through shallow wetlands and marshes.
Accordingly, SLN expects to utilize the new member for patrols in the shallow waters areas.
Initially, to strengthen the security provided for the Karagam Lewaya gas and oil storages in Hambantota International Harbour, the SLN has deployed the boat in adjacent to shallow waters.
Southern Naval Commander Rear Admiral Priyantha Perera has conducted a training session for the operators in Karagam Lewa.
