Chinese Defence Minister departs
April 29, 2021The Chinese State Councillor and Defence Minister General Wei Fenghe left Sri Lanka today morning (Apr 29) at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) on successful completion of his two-day official visit.
The high profile Chinese Defence Delegation arrived in the Island was received by a Sri Lankan Defence Delegation led by Defence Secretary, Gen. Kamal Gunaratne (Retd) at the BIA on Tuesday evening (Apr 27).
During the visit, General Fenghe called on His Excellency the President Gotabaya Rajapaksa at the Presidential Secretariat, Colombo and the Sri Lankan Prime Minister Hon. Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday (Apr 28).
Military Assistance Protocol was signed following the bilateral discussion held between High Ranking Sri Lankan Defence Officials led by Sri Lankan Defence Secretary and the Chinese Delegation at the Shangri-La Hotel, Colombo.
