Army COVID-19 vaccine second dose to roll out
April 29, 2021The Sri Lanka Army's representative group of frontline working against transmission of COVID-19 received the 2nd dose of ‘AstraZeneca Covishield’ vaccination yesterday (Apr 28) at the Colombo Army Hospital.
Accordingly, the Army personnel actively fighting against transmission of the coronavirus would receive the vaccine through 15 island-wide Military Hospitals following the directives of Head National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID - 19 Outbreak (NOCPCO), Chief of Defence Staff and Army Commander Gen. Shavendra Silva.
The project to vaccinate frontline Army health workers with the first dose was launched in January this year.
