SLN nabs Cannabis worth of Rs. 72 million
April 30, 2021The Sri Lanka Navy (SLN), nabbed 240 kilos of Kerala cannabis during a special raid carried out in the seas off Sillalai, Jaffna on Wednesday (Apr 28).
The street value of the stock of Kerala cannabis is believed to be Rs. 72 million, the SLN said.
SLN’s Northern Naval Command led operations in the area seized the haul of cannabis packed in 105 bundles. According to the Navy, smugglers had concealed the illegal package to slip away the continuous search operations.
The entire operation was conducted adhering to healthcare guidelines, the SLN confirmed.
