Total virus recovery in SL rose to 96,478 persons

The total Coronavirus positives identified during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today (May 02) stands at 1716 and the total cases in the country increased to 109,861, the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.

Seventeen persons among the total positives identified yesterday were Sri Lankans repatriated from overseas while 375 have been identified from Colombo District, 247 from Gampaha District, 158 from Kaluthara District and 919 persons from other districts, the NOCPCO confirmed today (May 02).

The numbers of infected persons increased to 96,458 and out of them, a total of 94,516 have left hospitals following complete recovery.

A total of 503 persons have left hospitals yesterday after complete recovery from the virus.

The total recovery from the virus in the country rose to 96,478 persons. 12,696 Coronavirus patients are undergoing medical treatments while 11,212 persons are quarantining under 113 centres managed by Tri-Forces, the NOCPCO added.

The country’s COVID-19 death toll has increased to 687 along with nine Coronavirus deaths reported during the last 24 hours.
