‘War Heroes Commemoration Flag’ pinned on President
May 04, 2021- Nation’s Salutation to Motherland’s War Heroes!
Declaring the month of War Heroes’ Commemoration, the National War Heroes Flag was pinned on His Excellency the President Gotabaya Rajapaksa at the Presidential Secretariat today (May 4).
The month of War Heroes begins during the first week of May with the National War Heroes Flag pinned on the President.
Acting Chairperson of the Ranaviru Seva Authority Sonia Kottegoda pinned the War Heroes Flag on the President.
The Ranaviru month was declared to commemorate the War Heroes who sacrificed their lives and were injured during the conflict that lasted over three decades.
Defence Secretary Gen. Kamal Gunaratne (Retd) was also present at the event.
