SLN opens more avenues for healthcare
May 10, 2021Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) inaugurated an Intermediate Care Centre (ICC) with 200 beds for coronavirus patients at the Boossa Naval base, Galle recently in a bid to support the government's efforts to enhance the healthcare facilities.
Further assisting the process, the SLN initiated a number of projects to expand facilities for the treatment of coronavirus patients along with the surge of virus hit patients in the island.
Meanwhile, SLN is now in the process of converting a closed factory in Werellawatta, Gampaha into an ICC with 2000 beds.
According to the SLN sources they are also expanding facilities of Gampaha General Hospital with 50 beds and also the Minuwangoda Base Hospital with 35 beds.
In the same vein, the Navy is constructing three semi-permanent buildings at the Wathupitiwala Base Hospital to establish a ward with 20 beds for the treatments.
