Secretary meets with shipping association representatives
July 02, 2019A group of representatives of the Ceylon Association of Shipping Agents (CASA) met the Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, General SHS Kottegoda (Rtd) WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc, for a discussion at the Ministry on Friday (28th June 2019).
A number of issues faced by local shipping agents, including expediting the clearance process and reducing delays in ingress and egress from the harbor and other matters were taken up for discussion during the meeting.
The Secretary, gave a patient hearing to the issues put forward by the CASA representatives led by the Secretary General of CASA Mr. Ralph Anandappa and also assured them of his support to overcome problems faced by them.
Several senior Ministry Officials and acting Harbour Master Capt KM Nirmal P Silva were also present at the discussion.
