SLN donates blood to brace healthcare drive
May 25, 2021The Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) conducted a blood donation campaign covering island-wide Naval Commands in collaboration with the National Blood Transfusion Service, Apeksha Hospital and other Hospitals yesterday (24 May).
The programme was organized by the SLN Seva Vanitha Unit (SVU) in a bid to strengthen the national healthcare drive and to cater the demand of blood during the prevailing pandemic situation in the island, the SLN said.
The campaign covering all the Naval Commands was steered under the guidance of the Navy’s SVU Chairperson Chandima Ulugetenne.
The healthcare guidelines were strictly followed during the programme, the SLN also stated.
