Army joins hands with Police to monitor travel restrictions
May 25, 2021Sri Lanka Army has deployed Army Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs), Special Force Rider Teams and Army Drone Battalion, together with infantry soldiers in the Western Province and its suburbs to strengthen the security arrangements of the Sri Lanka Police.
The Army says that the operations were conducted on the instructions of the Security Forces-West Commander.
Similar operations were also carried out by Navy and Air Force troops to assist the Police for strict imposition of travel restrictions and to monitor the public movements in Colombo and its suburbs.
