Navy conducts HADR programme
March 29, 2019A joint Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) exchange programme, combined with INDO-Pacific Endeavour 2019 was conducted at the Rapid Action Boats Squadron's Headquarters (RABS HQ) at Gangewadiya, Eluvankulama in Puttalam on Wednesday (27 March).
According to Navy media, personnel attached of the Rapid Response Rescue and Relief Unit (4RU) conducted demonstrations sharing their expertise in Disaster Management operations.
Held in two stages, the programme saw a flood simulator exercise and a landslide simulator exercise being conducted. Australian Defence Force Personnel also took part during some training activities with the local personnel.
Commander Northwestern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Ruwan Perera, Australian High Commission representatives, Tri-Forces and Police officers and representatives of state institutes were also present at this occasion.
