Child healthcare and maternal ward in Seeduwa ICC
May 28, 2021A combined team of senior medical experts on Maternal and Child Health, led by Dr (Mrs) H.S. R Perera, Deputy Director General of Health Services, together with a few other specialists recently arrived at the Seeduwa Intermediate Care Centre (ICC) cum Hospital to assess feasibility on functioning maternal and child health in separate wards.
State Minister of Primary Health Services and COVID-19 Pandemic Prevention Dr Sudarshani Fernandopulle also visited the ICC.
Chairperson of Army Seva Vanitha Unit Sujeewa Nelson received the Minister with visiting specialists at the Seeduwa ICC.
According to the Army, allocation of facilities within the Army-improvised Seeduwa ICC was sought since ICU and all necessary medical facilities are available within the centre, as maternal and child healthcare remains a main concern.
The Army said the medical team had closely inspected the earmarked wards while assessing manpower including doctors, nurses and medical assistants and other relevant functional aspects for the commencement of the timely requirement.
