Military to brace state-run vaccination programme
May 30, 2021Sri Lanka Army (SLA) alongside the Medical Officers of Health (MOHs) and healthcare staffers conducted the state-run vaccination programme in designated areas of the Southern part of the island yesterday (29).
The Army said the vaccination programme is continuing today (30) in Galle and Matara districts with the support of Army Medical Officers and SLA Medical Corps.
The programme was conducted covering mobile centres located in Uyanwatta, Pawarasiri Niveraramaya, Ransegoda Sri Vijayaramaya and Kekanadura Rajamaha Viharaya in Matara District and Atanika Primary School, Elpitya Ananda College and Habaraduwa Dharmika Vidyalaya in Galle District, the Army said.
Troops also conducted the vaccination programme in Galle, Matara, Matale, Kurunegala and Anuradhapura areas covering the Southern, North-Western, North Central and Central Provinces respectively on Friday (28) following President’s instructions, the Army also said.
