SLN nabs 24 million worth of Cannabis
May 31, 2021Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) nabbed cannabis over 80 kilos during a two-day special operation in Kottadi, Point Pedro (May 30 and 31).
Accordingly, SLN nabbed over 48 kilos on May 30 in Kottadi, Point Pedro and the today’s arrest of 31 kilos is also associated to the same haul of Cannabis, SLN said.
The haul of Cannabis nabbed today (31) was found in two polythene sacks while those were hidden behind a closed building, SLN said.
According to the Navy, smugglers have left the smuggled items following the special night patrol and seizure conducted in the previous day (30).
The apprehended items were handed over to the Point Pedro Police for onward legal proceedings, SLN added.
Entire two-day raid was conducted adhering to the healthcare guidelines, the news also confirmed.
