SLN and NARA conduct environmental impact survey
June 03, 2021Sri Lanka Navy said a research vessel of National Aquatic Resources Research and Development Agency (NARA) operated by SLN’s Hydrography Service (SLNHS) has collected water and sediment samples from the sea area ofthe ill-fated vessel.
Intending a post survey on environmental impact following the ill-fated incident, the SLN said, research vessel ‘RV‘Samudrika' is on her passage for an impact assessment in the vicinity of the causality ship since June 1.
The SLN sources stated the RV ‘Samudrika’ is a marinere search platform comprised of hydrography qualified officers of SLNHS and scientists of NARA, which also has performed a number of research expeditions and surveys during the past.
