Navy brings injured fisherman ashore
June 06, 2021Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) brought an injured fisherman ashore from a multi-day fishing trawler yesterday (June 5).
The wounded fisherman was brought ashore and directed to the Karapitiya hospital for treatments under the directives of the Defence Ministry.
The SLN said he was reportedly onboard a local multi-day fishing trawler and had been in critical condition following a severe injury in high seas, about 345 nautical miles away from the Great Basses Lighthouse to the southeast of Sri Lanka.
Arriving at the location yesterday, the SLN Ship ‘Sayura’ fetched the fisherman to the seas off Dondra and thereupon he was carried to the Galle Harbour on a Fast Attack Craft, the SLN said.
