Immediately landed SLAF aircraft is safe
June 07, 2021A pilots training aircraft (Cessna 150) of the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) made an emergency landing at the Irakkandi area, Nilaveli beach in Trincomalee following a technical fault.
According to the SLAF Spokesperson Group Capt. Dushan Wijesighe, the aircraft that took off from China Bay SLAF base around 10.22 a.m. had landed around 10.48 a.m. today.
They said both the pilots and the aircraft are safe.
Further investigations into the incident are being conducted following the instructions of Air Force Commander Air Marshal Sudharshana Pathirana, the SLAF also said.
