Navy brings unwell fisherman ashore
June 08, 2021Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) brought a fisherman in poor health ashore from a multi-day fishing trawler yesterday (June 7) and directed to the Karapitiya hospital for necessary treatments.
The SLN said he was reportedly onboard a local multi-day fishing trawler and had been in critical condition following a severe sickness in high seas, 85 nautical miles (about 157 km) southwest of Beruwala.
Arriving at the location yesterday, the SLN Ship ‘Sayura’ fetched the fisherman to the seas off Galle providing first aid and thereupon the patient was carried to the Galle Harbour on a Fast Attack Craft, the SLN said.
