Army raids a Cannabis cultivation
June 17, 2021Sri Lanka Army (SLA) troops of the 20 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment recently raided a Cannabis cultivation in Thanamalwila.
The secretly run illegal crop cultivation, grown in about 2 acres of land inside the jungle has been pulled out and destroyed under the supervision of the Police, the SLA said.
Meanwhile, troops with Policemen arrested three suspects with 25 kg of dried Ganja packets from the same location and the Thanamalwila Police are conducting onward investigations.
The operations conducted under the purview of the Defence Ministry support the Presidential directive on eradication of drugs from the country.
