KDU becomes the first CSSL GenZ Student Chapter
June 20, 2021Faculty of Computing of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) as the first ever Student Chapter of Computer Society of Sri Lanka (CSSL) has showcased the glamour at a webinar named “Gen Z” recently held in line with the 45th Anniversary of the CSSL.
CSSL undergraduate chapters branded as CSSL GenZ chapters will function as mini Computer Society in each university and the Faculty of Computing of KDU is the first ever Student Chapter of CSSL.
The KDU sources said the President of the CSSL Student Chapter of KDU, Mr. Ranasinghe and the committee member MS. Hiruni Rajapaksha conveyed the Student Chapter goals and the agenda for the year.
The keynote speaker for the event held on 20 May 2021 was the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) South East Asia Regional Computer Consortium Mr.Nicholas Tate from Australia while Dean of Faculty of Computing Dr. Asela Gunasekara delivered the guest speech.
A large number of participants representing six Universities in Sri Lanka, CSSL Student Chapter in charge, Dr. Nirosha Wedasinghe and many other student chapter members have joined the event, the KDU said.
CSSL is the apex body for practitioners, academics, students, policy makers, professionals and members of the business community in Sri Lanka.
