Brazil’s Deputy Head of Mission pays farewell call
June 21, 2021The Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Federative Republic of Brazil in Sri Lanka, Winston Alexander Silva who will be completing his tenure in due course, made a farewell call on the Sri Lankan Defence Secretary Gen. Kamal Gunaratne (Retd) at the Defence Ministry, today (June 21).
During a cordial discussion held between two officials, Brazil's Deputy Head of Mission expressed his gratitude to the Defence Secretary for the cooperation extended by the Defence Ministry during his tenure.
Meanwhile, Gen. Gunaratne praised the outgoing Deputy envoy for his cooperation extended to the Sri Lankan Defence Ministry and its staff.
The Defence Secretary also commended for his assistance that led to further strengthening the existing ties between two countries.
The meeting was held in keeping with the stipulated healthcare guidelines to contain the spread of COVID-19.
Military Liaison Officer Brig. Dinesh Nanayakkara and Honorary Consul of the Republic of Botswana in Sri Lanka, Jayasiri Silva were also present at the event.
