Troops in Kilinochchi assist public welfare programmes

March 21, 2019

Sri Lanka Army troops in Killinochchi responding to a request for assistance from the Blood Bank at the Kilinochchi Hospital volunteered to give blood to the patients of the hospital. More than 85 Army personnel gave blood at the blood donation campaign held at the Mankulam Hospital on Monday (18 March).

Meanwhile, a group of Army personnel in Kilinochchi also volunteered to clean the premises of the Palinagar Thamil Alagan pre-school in response to a request by the pre-school authorities. These programmes were conducted with the guidance of Security Forces - Kilinochchi, Major General Ralph Nugera.

Troops routinely lend assistance to such social welfare programmes as a measure to strengthen reconciliation and goodwill between people and troops.
