Army recovers 753 kg of turmeric from Silawatura
June 25, 2021Sri Lanka Army Intelligence troops of 54 Division along with Quick Reaction Team of the 8 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment troops nabbed a haul of 753 kg of smuggled turmeric at Savaripuram, Silawathura recently.
The haul of turmeric valued about Rs. 4.518 mn is believed to have been smuggled from India and no suspects were arrested, the Army said.
The haul of turmeric has been handed over to the Silawathura Police for further investigations, the Army confirmed.
