Army troops disinfect Vavuniya Town
June 26, 2021Sri Lanka Army troops launched a disinfection programme in and around public places in Vavuniya town recently in order to suppress the spread of COVID - 19 virus.
The Army sources said the troops sterilized bus stands, railway station, welfare centres, state and private banks, market places, general hospital compound, government and non-governmental institutions, public assembly points and three-wheeler parks, etc.
17 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment troops, 8 field Engineer Regiment, Public Health Inspectors and urban council employees joined the programme conducted on June 24 on the instructions of the Commander, Security Forces - Wanni, Maj. Gen. Hemantha Bandara.
