"Sagara" leaves for LIMA 2019 in Malaysia

Sri Lanka Navy's ship "Sagara" left the island to Malaysia to attend LIMA-2019, on Tuesday (19 March). According to Navy media, the Offshore Patrol Vessel which left home shores from the Eastern Port of Trincomalee will attend the Langkawi International Maritime & Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA)-2019 scheduled to be held on Langkawi Island in Malaysia from 26th to 30th (March).

The Langkawi International Maritime & Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) is one of the largest shows of its kind within the Asia Pacific region. It is a biennial exhibition, dedicated to the Maritime and Aerospace sectors for Defence, Civil and Commercial Applications being held since 1991 and this year will be its 15th segment. The Mahsuri International Exhibition Centre (MIEC), Langkawi will set the stage for this international event.

The programme includes conferences, ship displays, maritime demonstration and maritime assets static displays. The opening ceremony is scheduled to be attended by the Malaysian Prime Minister.

The previous LIMA was attended by Navy's Offshore Patrol Vessel 'Sayura' in March 2017.
