Dharma Vijaya Foundation gifts medical devices for COVID prevention drive
July 02, 2021US-based Dharma Vijaya Foundation and Buddhist Viharaya symbolically vested in a large consignment of medical devices, equipment and accessories yesterday (July 01) to Sri Lanka for COVID-19 control work.
The founder of the organization, Ven Dr Walpola Piyananda Nayake Thero, Chief Sangha Nayake for the US called at the Army HQ and handed over the donation to the Head, National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO), Chief of Defence Staff and Army Commander Gen. Shavendra Silva at the Army Headquarters, the Army sources stated.
Accordingly, the medical devices including telemetry monitors for BP/HR pulses, Oxygen with leads, 10 ltr Oxygen concentrators, Pulse Oximeters, to the value of US $20,000 were distributed among 12 island-wide hospitals, the Army said.
