Army troops build six homes for needy people in Kilinochchi

Sri Lanka Army has launched a house construction project for needy people in Kilinochchi following the guidelines given by Chief of Defence Staff and Army Commander Gen. Shavendra Silva.

The Army said at present, six houses are under construction in view of uplifting the living standards of the most-affected sections of the society while promoting reconciliation and General Officer Commanding, 66 Division Maj. Gen. Ajith Dissanayake closely supervises the project.

Army sources stated 20 Sri Lanka Light Infantry, 24 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, 11 Gajaba Regiment, 20 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, 5 Mechanized Infantry Regiment and 2 Sri Lanka National Guard troops have been involved in the project with the sponsorship of philanthropists and donors.
