Navy Hospital receives new Hemodialysis Unit
July 16, 2021The newly established Hemodialysis Unit of the Welisara Navy General Hospital was declared open under the auspices of Navy Commander Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne yesterday (July 15).
According to the SLN, the added facility would ease the management of kidney associated issues and also planned to cater the dialysis treatments of all serving and retired naval personnel and their family members.
The Naval Welfare Directorate funded project was braced by the Navy’s Sava Vanitha Unit (NSVU) while providing essentials, the Navy said.
The brief event was held in keeping with healthcare guidelines to prevent the spread of coronavirus, the SLN confirmed.
NSVU President Chandima Ulugetenne, Navy Chief of Staff Rear Admiral Ruwan Perera and Senior Navy Officials were present at the event.
