Navy brings injured fisherman ashore
July 19, 2021Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) brought an injured fisherman ashore from a multi-day fishing trawler yesterday (July 18).
The wounded fisherman was brought ashore and directed to the Hambantota General Hospital for further treatments under the directives of the Defence Ministry.
Arriving at the location yesterday, the Sri Lanka Naval Ship 'Sayurala' fetched the fisherman to the Hambantota harbour, the SLN said.
Reportedly, he was on-board a local multi-day fishing trawler and had been in critical condition following a severe injury in high seas, about 610 nautical miles (1129km) off Great Basses Lighthouse, southeast of the island.
