Army-renovated residential monastery vested in Maha Sangha
July 19, 2021Sri Lanka Army renovated and restructured old 'Sanghawasaya' (residential monastery) at Viharahalmillewa Rajamaha Viharaya, Kebithigollewa was vested in the Maha Sanga recently following President’s 'Gama Samaga Pilisandarak' programme directives.
The 5 (V) Gajaba Regiment along with the technical expertise of Corps of Engineer Service Regiment completed the project under the supervision of 623 Brigade Commander Col. Rohan Medagoda, the Army said.
Accordingly, the 'Sanghawasaya' was vested in the members of the Maha Sangha during a simple ceremony attended by Commander, Security Forces - Wanni Maj. Gen. Hemantha Bandara, the Army added.
