SLN installs another RO Plant in Eppawala
July 19, 2021Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) installed a Reverse Osmosis (RO) Plant, at the ancient Sri Sambuddha Weerasingharamaya in Eppawala, on July 17.
The RO plant installed responding to a request made by North Central Province Deputy Chief Sanghanayake Ven. Panvila Gunaratana Nayaka thero was declared open by the Navy’s Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU) Chairperson Chandima Ulugetenne.
The SLN said the prime motive of the RO plant installation was to facilitate the Sri Sambuddha Weerasingharamaya, its devotees and the neighbouring water-stressed community.
Continuing its community welfare oriented social responsibility initiative, the NSVU fulfilled a long-felt need for safe drinking water along with this noble project.
According to the Senior Coordinator (Naval Social Responsibility) Projects Captain WLN Gunasekara this is the Navy's 858th RO plant installed thus far.
The brief opening was also attended by Commander North Central Naval Area, Rear Admiral Sanjeewa Dias, the NSVU Members, Senior Coordinator (Naval Social Responsibility) Projects senior officers and a limited number of NSVU staffers.
