Army-built three new houses for needy civilians in Kilinochchi vested in

Sri Lanka Army troops built three more new houses recently for the needy families and vested them in, with the objective of promoting reconciliation and improving the living standards of the civilians in Kilinochchi.

Mr. Sinnavi Nawarathnam at Kasikuda, Pooneryn, Mr. Ramanadan Maniwaththan at Maduwilnadu and Mr. Arumugam Naguleshwaran at Mailwanapuram, Pilimanthanaru in Kilinochchi were the beneficiaries of the houses and they were also donated with a stock of essential provisions and household items during the house warming ceremonies, the Army sources stated.

Troops under Security Force Headquarters-Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) contributed immensely to the community project while providing labour, resources and funds along with the support of the donors, the Army stated.

5 Mechanized Infantry Regiment, 24 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment and 14 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) completed the respective projects and the house construction project initiated by SFHQ-KLN is in progress, the Army confirmed.

Commander, SFHQ-KLN Maj. Gen. Harendra Ranasinghe together with the senior officers, troops and state officials attended the respective house warming ceremonies adhering to COVID-19 preventive measures.
