“Grappling with Floods to Secure Socio-economic Security”
July 25, 2021The Director General of Disaster Management Centre (DMC) Maj. Gen. Sudantha Ranasinghe speaking at a public lecture themed ‘Grappling with Floods to Secure Socio-economic Security’ elaborated the initiatives that the DMC has taken to mitigate floods, risk reduction, prevention, and such disaster management while validating his points based on statistics and data.
He stated much work has already been conducted by the DMC and also noted that DMC will be undertaking many projects in days to come.
He also highlighted, the DMC is keen to work with interested intellectuals to share and gather their knowledge in the respective field.
The virtual public lecture was organized by the Institute of National Security Studies (INSS) established under the purview of Defence Ministry.
