SLAF completes second phase of Kanugahawewa Village development
July 30, 2021Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) completed the second phase Kanugahawewa Village renovation project in Kebithigollewa and formally handed over to its residents yesterday (July 29) under the patronage of the Minister of Youth and Sports, State Minister of Digital Technology and Enterprise Development, Hon. Namal Rajapaksa.
Accordingly, an office building for the Kanugahawea Primary School, a Daham Pasel (Sunday School) building for the Abinawarama Viharaya and 12 houses for residents were vested in the public, the SLAF said.
The SLAF sources also said 314 families of the Kanugahawewa Village and approximately 942 civilians are benefitted through this worthy cause which was handled by the SLAF’s Directorate of Civil Engineering.
The SLAF initiated the Kanugahawewa village development project under the supervision of the SLAF Commander Air Marshal Sudharshana Pathirana following the directives of HE the President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa during the 'Talk with the Village' program held in Kanugahawewa Village, the SLAF confirmed.
The event was attended by the Minister of Lands, Hon. S. M. Chandrasena and the State Minister of Samurdhi, Household Economy, Micro Finance, Self-Employment and Business Development, Hon. Shehan Semasinghe, the SLAF Commander, state officials, senior officers along with soldiers of the SLAF and residents of the area.
